|
USB hub good but not foolproof  |
My preference was to install this in the 3 1/2 bay, but the fixing holes on the hub case arent compatible with my PC, so its gone into a 5 1/2 bay. The hub is well designed and looks good.At the moment, however it isnt working. Im using it with a USB 1 card so perhaps will need to upgrade, though the card is apparently compatible with USB 1.1. Fixing in the 5 1/2 isnt covered by the booklet, but it has gone in OK - there are no screw holes on the hub case but there are slots which are just about adequate alternatives to fix into. Currently I have connected the hub using the internal to external USB connector (which should be foolproof, so why its not working Im not sure). It is well designed, particularly the replacement bracket and grommet. If I can get it working, it will be what I wanted! Im sure that it will get to work and that the teething problems are mine rather than the hubs.

This hub seems to be really nice from its description. After I bought this product I realized that it is that good. It has the ability to host 4 USB plug’n’play devices. The good thing with this, compared to other USB hubs I‘ve tried, it can transfer with full speed rate, data to 3 devices at the same time! ( I didn’t try with four, but I think it will work pretty good).It is also really nice, the fact that it is compact, and you can easily carry it along while moving your laptop computer. It doesn’t need any external supply, something that makes it flexible in usage, and it’s quite good looking. Now, compared to its price, I think it is a real bargain, that you are not gonna find in any computer store in town. So I strongly recommend anyone that needs some more fast USB ports to get it for this price. This is my opinion on this product, and I think it is very use full for everyone, if you consider that you can connect flash memories, digital cameras, usb keyboards and mousse, remote controllers, external audio cards (creative extigy), web cameras, mp3 players and many more...
